James DeMonaco

James DeMonaco (born 1969 in Brooklyn , New York City ) is an American director , screenwriter and film producer .

DeMonaco, who first appeared as a screenwriter since 1994, made his directorial debut in 2009 with the episode film Staten Island . The horror film The Purge, produced by Jason Blum , followed in 2013 . The following year, the second part, The Purge: Anarchy , started on July 18, 2014 in the United States. The third part, The Purge: Election Year , was created in 2016 .
