James Nash (2011)

James Nash (born December 16, 1985 in Milton Keynes ) is a British racing driver . He will start in the World Touring Car Championship (WTCC) in 2012 .

Career

Nash began his motorsport career in karting in 2000 , where he was active until 2004. In 2005 he debuted in the Formula Ford Zeus in Formula racing . From 2006, Nash was active in the British Formula Ford for two years. After finishing fifth in his first season, Nash was runner-up by 562 to 680 behind Callum MacLeod .

In 2008, Nash decided to switch to touring cars . He started for Sunred Engineering in the Seat Leon Eurocup . With two podium finishes, he finished the season in fifth place. In 2009 , Nash received a part-time cockpit for the British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) in a Chevrolet Cruze at RML . While his teammate Jason Plato was runner-up, Nash achieved a podium finish with a third place and was 15th in the drivers' standings. In 2010, Nash joined the BTCC for the second race weekend at Triple Eight Race Engineering . He received a Vauxhall Vectra . With a third place as the best placement, Nash improved to twelfth place in the championship. In 2011, Nash competed throughout the BTCC season for Triple Eight Race Engineering. He achieved his first BTCC victory at Rockingham Motor Speedway , which was his only win of the season. With a total of nine podium finishes, he finished the championship in fifth place. He also won the BTCC Independents' Trophy that season .

In 2012 , Nash moved to the World Touring Car Championship (WTCC). He starts in a Ford Focus 1.6T from Team Aon . After the second race weekend, twelfth place is his best result.
