James Redfield

James Redfield (born March 19, 1950 in Birmingham , Alabama ) is a popular American author. He is the author of several books around the world and editor of the monthly The Celestine Journal .

Life

He grew up in Alabama - in the southern United States. From an early age he was motivated to bring clarity to spiritual perspectives. On the other hand, brought up to a Methodist Church on a family background , he was quickly frustrated that there were few answers to his questions about the true nature of spiritual experiences. He studied Eastern philosophy and dealt with Taoism and Zen Buddhism . He completed his major sociology at Auburn University with a master's degree. After graduating, he worked as a therapist in youth work for 15 years .

In 1989 Redfield ended his therapeutic work and decided to re-bundle his interests and activities. In the following years he wrote his bestseller Prophecies of Celestine - An Adventure . Since he couldn't find a publisher quickly enough, he finally published the book himself in 1993, making it one of the most successful self- published books of all time.

As the author and editor of The Celestine Journal , Redfield continues to shape a new spiritual culture. He is committed to protecting the American forests and works with Marianne Williamson and Neale Donald Walsch in the Global Renaissance Alliance (GRA). Basic principles of the work of people in the GRA are to encourage people to be more non- violent and to allow more spiritual values ​​to flow into political systems . In March 2004, Redfield was honored with the World View Award by the Wisdom Media Group for his persistence in sustaining the discussion on the "nature of human existence" with the effect of "improving humanity ".

Today James Redfield lives in Florida with his wife Salle .
