Jamie Hunt (born April 20, 1984 in Calgary , Alberta ) is a Canadian ice hockey player who is currently under contract with the Chicago Wolves in the AHL .

Player career

The 1.86 m tall defender began his career with the Calgary Canucks in the junior league AJHL as well as with the team of Mercyhurst College in the Atlantic Hockey Conference, a league in play operation of the NCAA , before joining the 2006/07 season as a free agent of the Washington Capitals was committed. The Capitals used the left shooter mostly in the American Hockey League with the Hershey Bears .

There the trained defender performed well and was then appointed to the squad of the Washington Capitals. Hunt scored twelve points scorer in 36 games. The right-shooter made his NHL debut for the Capitals in the game against the New Jersey Devils on December 29, 2006, which the Capitals lost by three to four goals. Hunt completed the following season again in the AHL and finally decided to move to Europe. In the summer of 2008, those responsible for the Augsburg panthers became aware of the 24-year-old and transferred him to Germany. Jamie Hunt signed a one-year contract in Augsburg and went on the ice for the Panthers in the 2008/09 season . After a season he left the Panthers again and signed a contract with the Chicago Wolves in the AHL .
