Jan Berger (born August 18, 1976 in Prague ) is a Czech - Swiss football player .

Club career

In 1994, the talented midfielder made the leap into the professional team, but only made 16 appearances in three years. This was followed by a year at FC Basel , a season at FC Aarau , a half-year at AC Bellinzona and another at FC Baden . From 2000 to 2003 the left footer played for FC St. Gallen .

In the summer of 2003, the Czech first division team Chmel Blšany became interested in Berger, who finally signed with the league competitor Marila Příbram . In the Gambrinus League , however, the injury-prone Berger could not prevail and completed only two games for Příbram.

In autumn 2006 Berger played for FC Bulle , in 2007 he was temporarily loaned to CS Chênois in the 2nd interregional league.

In August 2007 Berger went to the Czech Republic for the second time in his career and joined the second division Fotbal Třinec , where the midfielder played a key role. Berger scored three goals in 25 games. In July 2008 Berger moved to 1. FC Slovácko . His contract was terminated in December 2008.
