Jan Hrbatý

Jan Hrbatý (born January 20, 1942 in Strážisko , Olomoucký kraj ; † July 23, 2019 ) was a Czechoslovak ice hockey player who won a silver medal with the national team at both World Championships and Winter Olympic Games .

Jan Hrbatý began his career in 1961 at ASD Dukla Jihlava and played exclusively for this club in the top division of the ČSSR. With Dukla he was Czechoslovakian champion several times before ending his career in 1980.

With the Czechoslovak national team he took 1967 to 1970 at all international tournaments and won in 1968 at the Olympic Winter Games silver medal, the same applies as Vice World Champion title. He also took part in the world championships in 1967 , 1969 (winning the bronze medal) and 1970 (winning the bronze medal). In total, he scored 15 goals in 57 international matches for the ČSSR.

In December 2015 Jan Hrbatý was inducted into the Czech Ice Hockey Hall of Fame .
