Tanju Kayhan (born July 22, 1989 in Vienna ) is an Austrian football player of Turkish descent.

Career

society

Kayhan, the son of Turkish immigrants from the province of Yozgat , began his career in the youth of Rapid Vienna . From 1999 he played in all youth teams Rapids before joining the amateurs in 2007. He made his debut for the amateurs in 2008 in the Regionalliga Ost against SV Wienerberg .

Kayhan made his Bundesliga debut on November 15, 2008 against LASK Linz when he came on for Markus Katzer in the 77th minute . The game ended 5-0 for the green-whites. In the spring, Kayhan was sidelined due to an injury.

In the winter break of 2009/10 Kayhan switched to league rivals FC Magna Wiener Neustadt on loan , but came back to Rapid for the 2010/11 season, where he became a regular.

On May 27, 2011, Beşiktaş Istanbul announced the commitment of Tanju Kayhan. His transfer fee was 1,050,000 euros. In his first season in Istanbul he made ten appearances in the Süper Lig and two appearances in the Europa League - both against last year's finalist Sporting Braga . After he was not used in the first half of the following season, it was announced on December 4, 2011 that Kayhan was doing a trial session at FC Augsburg . In addition to FC Augsburg, Kayhan also completed a trial training session at 1. FC Kaiserslautern .

At the beginning of 2013 Tanju Kayhan signed a loan contract with Mersin İdman Yurdu . At the end of the season he returned to Beşiktaş and took part in the pre-season preparatory camp.

In the last days of the summer transfer period, Kayhan was loaned out to league rivals Eskişehirspor . After Kayhan was only used in three competitive games at this club and was recently even deported to the reserve team, he dissolved his contract by mutual agreement and returned to Beşiktaş. For the second half of the season he was loaned to the first division club Sanica Boru Elazığspor .

In the 2014 summer transfer period, he moved to Kardemir Karabükspor , where he signed a three-year contract. After Karabükspor failed to stay in the Süper Lig in summer 2015, Kayhan left this club. Kayhan then moved back to Austria for SK Sturm Graz in September 2015 .

For the 2016/17 season he moved to the Turkish second division club Göztepe Izmir . With the club he rose to the top of the Turkish league at the end of the season. For the 2018/19 season Kayhan moved to the second division Adana Demirspor . Without commitment, he left Adana Demirspor in March 2020.

National team

Kayhan played three times for the Austrian U-21 national football team in 2009 . He made his debut against the Italian U-21 team .

Kayhan has three brothers who are or were also active in football.

  • Ercan was most recently under contract with SC Ostbahn XI , where he ended his active career in summer 2016.
  • Orhan was last active in 2014 at the Lower Austrian amateur club SV Furth .
