Ostbahn XI was able to establish itself as one of the leading amateur sports clubs in Vienna, the most famous player in the early 1930s was the later International Franz Hanreiter . From 1932 to 1934 the Ostbahner played in the VAFÖ league . In 1935 it was even promoted to the professional II. League South, in which the club was able to hold up until 1936/37 . During the time of National Socialism, the club initially played in the third class first class and, like all Viennese railway sports clubs, was assigned to the Reichsbahn gymnastics and sports club in Greater Vienna in 1939. The name Ostbahn XI was increasingly replaced by the official name "Reichsbahn I".

In 1941, the Reichsbahner moved up to 1st class and, as the winner of the 1st season, was able to move up to the Gauliga Donau-Alpenland . To improve sporting competitiveness, it was decided to merge with "Reichsbahn VI", the SK Westbahn . As SG Reichsbahn they showed themselves to be a competitive team in the regional league in the 1942/43 season and beat Rapid 5-2 on the Pfarrwiese. Seventeen-year-old Ernst Stojaspal played in the storm at that time . As seventh place out of eleven teams, the Reichsbahner had to go into relegation with eighth SC Wacker Wien to stay in the league, the game was lost 2-1. The SG Reichsbahn was separated again and Reichsbahn I moved to 1st class Vienna A, Reichsbahn IV to 1st class Vienna B.

First division year and regional division football in Simmering

The Reichbahner remained in this league until the championship was discontinued in the winter of 1944/45 and were included in the newly created highest league in Austria, the league , after the end of the war . The quality for relegation was in no way available: The games against Vienna ended 0:12 and 0:18, against Austria 0: 9 and 0:14 and against the Sport-Club 0: 8 and 0:14 . Only SC Rapid Oberlaa could be defeated 2-0. After relegation from the league to the Wiener Landesliga in 1946, it went on to the lower divisions in 1948.

In 1970 there was a merger with Olympia XI. As ESV Ostbahn-Olympia XI, under coach Rudolf Sabetzer and young star Herbert Prohaska, he was promoted to the Vienna League in 1971. In 1972 Herbert Prohaska moved to Wiener Austria, a total of 1.5 million schillings flowed to Simmering. 1973 also succeeded in being promoted to the second-rate Regionalliga Ost . Due to the major league reform in 1974, the regional league became the third level. In 1976 he was relegated from the Regionalliga, and in 1979 also from the Wiener Liga. In 1982 the merger with Webeba took place. In 1994 the club was renamed SC Ostbahn XI after it was no longer a railway sports club. In 1999 the club was able to return to the Vienna league. After he was able to establish himself in the league, they made it to the Regionalliga Ost in 2008. From the 2011/2012 season, the club had to play in the Vienna City League again. From then on, SC Ostbahn XI never stayed in a league for very long. In the following season there is again promotion, but the place in the Regionalliga Ost cannot be held.
