Jan Masanetz

Jan Masanetz (* 1979 in Leipzig ) is a German composer .

From 2004 to 2009 he studied composition with Manfred Trojahn at the Robert Schumann University in Düsseldorf and then completed a master class with Wolfgang Rihm at the University of Music Karlsruhe . He was funded by the German National Academic Foundation , the Aribert Reimann Foundation for the promotion of contemporary piano song and the Wilfried Steinbrenner Foundation for the promotion of serious music.

His father was the literary scholar and Fontane researcher Michael Masanetz (1953-2019).
