Jan May (born June 11, 1995 in Landau in der Pfalz ) is a former German track cyclist .

Athletic career

Jan May is a specialist in the short-term disciplines on the railway. He had his first major international success in 2012 when he won the gold medal in the team sprint together with Richard Aßmus and Maximilian Dörnbach at the European Junior Championships . The following year he was again European champion (U23) with Dörnbach and Patryk Rahn, and in the junior division he won the silver medal in the Keirin . At the UCI-Bahn World Championships for Juniors in 2013 , he finished third in the team sprint together with Dörnbach and Rahn. The three athletes set a new German junior record with 45.581 seconds . In 2016, May won a bronze medal in the team sprint at the European Elite Championships (with Robert Förstemann and Eric Engler ) and at the U23 European Championships (with Maximilian Dörnbach and Richard Assmus).
