Jan Neff (born May 6, 1832 in Lipník nad Bečvou ( German: Leipnik ); † August 26, 1905 there ) was a Czech trader and patron.

After attending the Piarist School , his parents sent him to Vienna to do an apprenticeship when he was twelve . There he also attended evening school and learned foreign languages.

He was active in Czech national associations. In 1863 he opened a business with art objects in Prague, which he later expanded to include a wide range. From this he financed patriotic associations such as Sokol , Hlahol , Radhošť, Umělecká beseda , Matice česká and others. He spent his free time with his family and public and political figures.

He also supported artists like Antonín Dvořák and provided scholarships for talented artists.

In his hometown he founded a secondary school out of his own fortune. He also contributed financially to the construction of the first business school in Brno . His grandson Vladimír Neff described his life's work in a book.
