Jan Saffe (born February 28, 1960 in Buchholz in the Nordheide ) is a Bremen politician ( Die Grünen ) and has been a member of the Bremen citizenship since 2011 .

education and profession

Saffe graduated from secondary school. He has lived in Bremen since 1985 and has worked in various professions. He studied politics and philosophy for three semesters at the University of Bremen. From 1990 to 1997 he was employed by the German Paritätischer Wohlfahrtsverband and worked for many years as an assistant for physically disabled people .

Saffe comes from the Bremen - Eastern suburb .

politics

Saffe is a member of Bündnis-90 / Die-Grünen. In the 1990s he was active in various citizens' initiatives and also participated in several popular initiatives by the association Mehr Demokratie .

He came to the Bremen citizenship at the beginning of the 18th electoral term on July 1, 2011 as a successor for a State Council and because of the placement by the individual votes. He is represented there again in the 19th electoral term , but only for the state parliament (Bremen and Bremerhaven). He is represented in the Committee for Port Affairs in the State of Bremen, Committee for Citizen Participation, Civic Engagement and Advisory Boards (City), Committee for Integration, Federal and European Affairs, International Contacts and Development Cooperation, Committee for Science, Media, Data Protection and Freedom of Information, Works Committee "Umweltbetrieb Bremen" and in the petitions committee (city) as well as in the state deputation for the environment, construction, traffic, urban development and energy.

  • Since the beginning of the 1990s he has been campaigning for Elektrizitätswerke Schönau (EWS) in the Black Forest, which, with its motto “no nuclear power, climate-friendly and citizen-friendly”, is today considered a model company for the energy transition in Germany.
  • From 1993 to 1996 he was involved with the environmental organization Robin Wood .
  • He was active in the citizens' initiative Hollerland.
  • He was on the board of the Bremen producer-consumer cooperative .
