Jan Schnider (born January 7, 1983 in Oensingen , Switzerland ) is a Swiss volleyball and beach volleyball player.

Career

Jan Schnider achieved his first sporting successes in the hall when he celebrated three Swiss championship titles in a row with SEAT Volley Näfels in 2003, 2004 and 2005.

From then on, Schnider only played beach volleyball and played with Marcel Gscheidle from 2005 to 2007 . After the 2007 World Cup in Gstaad , he changed partners and formed a duo with Martin Laciga , the younger of the successful Laciga brothers. In 2008 Laciga / Schnider qualified for the Olympic Games in Beijing . After less than two years together, Jan Schnider and Martin Laciga separated in May 2009. Schnider temporarily played with Andy Sutter and then formed a new national team with Philip Gabathuler after the Beach Volleyball World Cup in Stavanger . In August 2011 they started at the European Championships in Kristiansand , where they lost in the round of 16 against the Latvians Pļaviņš / J. Šmēdiņš . At the end of the 2011 season, the Gabathuler / Schnider team separated again because they did not achieve their goals.

After a three-year break, Schnider made a comeback in the hall in November 2009 and played in the National League A with Swica Volley Münsingen and since 2010 with TV Schönenwerd .
