Jan striker
Jan Stürmer (* 1974 in Aschaffenburg ) is a German guitarist , singer and composer . His stage name is "the Kaiser".
biography
Striker started playing guitar when he was eight. At the age of 12 he switched to the electric guitar and joined the well-known bands "4224 You", "Lee Brown", "Sieben" and "Fahrenheit" in his hometown of Aschaffenburg . He studied jazz guitar at the University of Music in Nuremberg with Helmut Kagerer and Cornelius Schmidkunz (alias Paulo Morello) (1996-2001). Since then he has worked as a live and studio guitarist and singer with Ernie Watts (Chaka Khan, Whitney Houston), Rick Margitza (Miles Davis), Rob McConnell , Cassandra Steen , Glashaus, Radost Bokel , Kim Sanders , Rick Washington, Vanessa Jean Dedmon ( DSDS ), Tertia Botha ( Preluders ), miC, Laura Martin (DSDS). In addition, Stürmer toured with Linda Carriere in 2002 for the 3P label and appeared in television and radio shows (Hermann and Tietjen, Vera am Mittag, NBC Giga TV, MTV Select). From 1998 to 2002 he worked as a demonstrator for the Japanese instrument manufacturer Roland at music fairs.
In March 2000 he founded the band Waterproof with Holger Kalenda, Andreas Hillesheim and Mario Garruccio, and composed 8 tracks for their debut release "Play our Songs".
Jan Stürmer has been the guitarist of the band re: jazz since 2006 , with whom he toured Japan in 2007 and 2009 and gave concerts at festivals (Balaton Sound Hungary, Usadba Jazz Festival Moscow, Leverkusener Jazztage Germany). In 2008 he performed with the world star Haddaway . He composed 2 tracks in collaboration with the children's and youth village Klinge, on which Faiz Mangat from the pop star casting band Bro'Sis sings, which were released in December 2008.
In 2008 he founded the acoustic formation "Kaiser and Friends", whose members include Alexander Heilmann, Heiko Himmighoffen, Mediha Rustempasic and Charles Simmons. With this formation he appears in 2010 and 2011 at the Robinson Club Soma Bay Egypt and in 2010 at the German Computing Center Award in Sinsheim.
In 2010, 2011 and 2012 he performed with Stefanie Heinzmann in clubs in Germany (Markthalle Hamburg, MAU Club Rostock), Switzerland (Bierhübeli Bern, Scala Wetzikon) and festivals (Jazzfest Rottweil and Gronau, Kultursommer Göttingen, Openair Etziken / Switzerland). At the Museumsuferfest 2012 he performed with the funk jazz quartet The Pinocchio Theory ( Matthias Vogt (keyb), Andreas Neubauer (dr), Matthias Deisenroth (b)) in the Pass Jazz Garden .
