Jan Tabor (publicist)

Jan Tabor (* 1944 in Poděbrady ) is a Czech-Austrian architect, architectural theorist, cultural journalist and exhibition organizer.

Jan Tabor studied at the Technical University of Brno from 1963 to 1968 . In 1968 he had to relocate to Vienna because of the Soviet intervention against the Prague Spring . From 1968 to 1970 he studied green space design at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences in Vienna and from 1970 to 1973 architecture and spatial planning at the Technical University of Vienna . Tabor was a lecturer at the University of Applied Arts Vienna from 1992 to 2009 . He has curated numerous exhibitions and published them in national media such as Kurier, Arbeiter-Zeitung , Falter and Süddeutsche Zeitung . He currently lives in Brno and Vienna and has been visiting professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bratislava since 2000 .

Tabor was awarded the 2011 Prize of the City of Vienna for Journalism .
