Jan Franciszek Wątroba (born December 4, 1953 in Wieluń , Łódź Voivodeship , Poland ) is a Roman Catholic clergyman and Bishop of Rzeszów .

Life

Jan Franciszek Wątroba received the sacrament of ordination for the diocese of Częstochowa on May 27, 1979 through the Bishop of Częstochowa , Stefan Bareła . In 1981 he was released for postgraduate studies at the Pontifical Lateran University in Rome , from which he graduated in 1985 with a licentiate in theology.

On 20 April 2000 appointed him Pope John Paul II. To the titular of Bisica and auxiliary bishop in Częstochowa. The Archbishop of Częstochowa, Stanisław Nowak , donated him episcopal ordination on May 20 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Archbishop of Lublin , Józef Życiński , and the auxiliary bishop in Częstochowa, Antoni Długosz . Jan Franciszek Wątroba was also Vicar General of the Archdiocese of Częstochowa.

Pope Francis appointed him Bishop of Rzeszów on June 14, 2013 . The inauguration followed on July 20 of the same year.
