Jane B. Reece

Jane B. Reece (born April 15, 1944 ) is an American biologist and author .

Career

Jane B. Reece received her Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Harvard University and her Master of Sciences in Microbiology from Rutgers University in New Jersey. She then moved to the University of California at Berkeley, where she received her doctorate in bacteriology in 1974 . Her dissertation topic was The recE pathway of genetic recombination in Escherichia coli . After her doctoral thesis, she did research at the universities of UC. Berkeley and Stanford University on the genetic recombination of bacteria. She taught biology at Middlesex County College in New Jersey and Queensborough Community College in New York.
Reece joined Benjamin Cummings' editing department in 1978 and has worked for scientific publishers ever since.

Act

As an editor at Benjamin Cummings, Reece has contributed significantly to the publication of many well-known textbooks. She herself has u. a. published several textbooks with Neil A. Campbell .

The textbook Biology , 7th ed., Which Reece wrote together with Campbell, was seen by SciTech Book News in the previous tradition of earlier editions of preparing facts in such a way that students are motivated to conduct scientific research through examples and research opportunities.
