Jane Wang

Jane Wang (born August 24, 1957 in Oxford ) is an English-American double bass player and composer.

Live and act

Wang studied with Cecil McBee , Dave Zox , Michael Willens , Joe Maneri and Bob Gullotti . She did not begin her musical career until she was over thirty, having previously worked in the film and computer industries.

As a composer she worked several times with the puppeteer and performance artist Hanne Tierney , for example she wrote the music for the play Salome , performed by their theater Without Actors , which won an Obie Award . She also composed for Renita Martin : u. a. the music for their solo program Five Bottles In a Six Pack and for the piece It Is The Seeing , which was performed at the Cherry Lane Theater in 2008 .

Wang was a member of the new music group Human Connection by composer Kenji Kikuchi , for which she also composed several pieces. She is still a member of the "cyber collective" of composers ~ chromatik_d_zabu.tmp . Your piece Numero Uno was in the collection 2007 / International mix of Robert Voiseys project 60x60 was added to the 60 composers each contributed 60 pieces.
