Bob Gullotti

Robert "Bob" Gullotti (* 1949 , † 25. January 2020 ) was an American jazz - drummer and university teachers .

Live and act

Bob Gullotti studied at Berklee College of Music and worked since 1972 with the saxophonist George Garzone in the formation The Fringe (since 1984 with John Lockwood ) and in his quartet. Gullotti also played with Tom van der Geld ( Children at Play ), in a trio with Jerry Bergonzi and Bruce Gertz ( Uranian Undertow , 1984), in the quintet by Bill Lowe / Philippe Crettien ( Sunday Train ) and with Marc Ribot and John Medeski in the Formation Surrender to the Air . He also toured with Eddie Henderson , JJ Johnson , Joe Lovano and John Patitucci . Gullotti participated in more than 60 recording sessions between 1973 and 2014; besides the above, also with David Azarian , Hal Crook , Leo Genovese , Lello Molinari , Deborah Henson-Conant and Guido Manusardi , most recently with Jesper Lovdal ( Very Well Vol. 1 ).

Gullotti was a professor at Berklee College of Music and wrote for music magazines such as Modern Drummer and Down Beat ; his students included u. a. Kevin Figueiredo , Curt Newton and Jane Wang . Gullotti lived in Waltham, Massachusetts .
