Janez Lampič (born September 27, 1996 in Ljubljana ) is a Slovenian cross-country skier .

Career

Lampič, who competes for TSK Triglav Kranj, mainly took part in junior races of the Alpine Cup from 2012 to 2016 . He reached seventh place in the U20 overall ranking in the 2015/16 season . His best placings at the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships 2015 in Almaty were 13th place in the sprint and eighth place in the relay. In January 2016 he made his debut in Planica in the cross-country skiing world cup and finished 40th in the sprint and 21st place together with Miha Šimenc in the team sprint. At the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships in 2016 in Râşnov , he won 57th place over 10 km classic, 40th place over 10 km freestyle and 16th place in sprint. At the end of January 2017, he finished 15th in the sprint at the 2017 U23 World Championships in Soldier Hollow . At the Nordic World Ski Championships 2017 in Lahti he finished 37th in the sprint and 13th place together with Miha Šimenc in the team sprint. In March 2017 he got his first World Cup points with 11th place in the sprint in Drammen . The following year he ran at the Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang on 46th place in the sprint and on the 21st place together with Miha Šimenc in the team sprint. At the Nordic World Ski Championships in 2019 in Seefeld in Tyrol , he finished 32nd in the sprint and ninth place together with Miha Šimenc in the team sprint.
