Jang Nara (born March 18, 1981 in Seoul ) is a South Korean actress and singer-songwriter who is mainly active in South Korea and China . She was best known for her studio album Sweet Dream , released in 2002 . Since then she has also played leading roles in various drama series.
Life
Jang Nara comes from an acting family. Her father, Ju Ho-seong (real name Jang Yeon-gyo) was a well-known actor in the 1980s. He directed the 2013 film Polaroid , which starred both his daughter, Jang Nara, and her cousin , Jeong Jae-yeon. Jang's older brother, Jang Seong-won, is also an actor.
Jang released her debut album First Story , with the title track Nunmul-e Eolgul-eul Mudneunda ( 눈물 에 얼굴 을 묻는다 ) in June 2001. It initially reached number 12 on the South Korean music charts . Shortly thereafter, she appeared on the sitcom New Nonstop , increasing her popularity. She then released more songs from her album and reached the top of some music charts. The album was sold over 300,000 times. Jang was presenter of music show Music Camp and the talk show Love Story of KBS . At the end of the year, Jang received several awards in the best new artist category .
