This discography is an overview of the released sound carriers of the US singer Janis Joplin . The first two albums Big Brother and the Holding Company (1967) and Cheap Thrills (1968) were released under the band name Big Brother and the Holding Company . According to sources and record awards, she has sold more than 18.5 million records to date, over 17.5 million of them in her home country alone. Joplin's most successful release is the album Janis Joplin's Greatest Hits with over 8.2 million units sold.
