Jannie Faurschou

Jannie Faurschou (born June 10, 1950 in Copenhagen ) is a Danish actress .

Life

Jannie Faurschou was born as the daughter of the dairy owner Erik Faurschou and his wife Henny Bjørnholt-Andersen. She is the sister of the Danish director and actor Jørn Faurschou . She attended the Drama School of the Odense Theater from 1971 to 1974 . However, because of a love affair, she dropped out of school six months before graduation.

Faurschau, who mostly worked as a freelance actress, first played theater in Copenhagen. She appeared in a broad and varied stage repertoire. She played girlish roles, comic characters, also touching and vulnerable characters, just as superficial and suffering women from the middle class. A focus of her stage roles, however, was on modern and absurd theater . As a theater actress, she made her breakthrough in 1981 at Teatret ved Sorte Hest in Copenhagen with the title role of Alice in Brigitte Kolerus' play of the same name . She had other theater engagements in 1983 at the Rialto Theater (Rialto Teatret) in Frederiksberg in Botho Strauss ' Kalldeway, Farce and in 1988 at Aveny Teatret in Totenfloß . From 1990 to 1993 she performed at the Royal Danish Theater in Copenhagen ; there she played u. a. in Schnitzler's Das weite Land (1993). In 2000 she appeared at the Rialto Teatret in the play Så enkel er kærligheden (English title: Love - it's so simple ) by Lars Norén . In the 2001/2002 season she gave guest performances at the Royal Danish Theater in Anna Sophie Hedvig by Kjeld Abell . Faurschou also appeared in revues in Blokhus , Holstebro and Rønne .

In the 1970s, Faurschou took on his first film and television roles. Her early television work includes her role as "decorative" Tina in the Danish television series Strandvaskeren (1978). In the movie Ulvetid (1981) she played the young Ellinor at the side of Ghita Nørby , Frits Helmuth and Henning Rohde . She then appeared as a teacher in the films Otto is a Rhinoceros (1983) and Busters verden (1984). In Anders Refn's TV series Een gang strømer (1987) she took on the role of journalist Terese Arnberg.

As a film actress, she achieved her breakthrough with her role in Eddie Thomas Petersen's film drama Springflod (1990), in which she played the mother of the juvenile criminal Franco, who was overwhelmed by the upbringing of her son. This was followed by successful appearances, each as a mother, in the children's films Ich bin's, Jasper (1992) and Snooky - My very best friend (1992). In the film Roser og persille (1993) she was seen again as singer Nora Kjær under the direction of Eddie Thomas Petersen. In the five-part television series Hjerteflimmer (1998) she played Sarah, a neurotically frustrated woman in the middle of her life.

In Annette K. Olesen's film drama Kleine Missgeschicke (2002) she played Eva, one of the family's two daughters. In the Danish crime thriller Unconditional (2007) she had a supporting role as the nurse Irma.

In October 2016, Faurschou was seen alongside Peter Sattmann and Sandra Borgmann in the ZDF “Herzkino” film A Summer in Denmark . She played Gitte Mortensen-Sandberg, the second wife of the old hippie Carl Sandberg, who lives with him in the alternative housing estate Freistadt Christiania. Faurschou spoke her role in German without dubbing.

In 1991 she received the Bodil Film Prize in the category “ Best Supporting Actress ” for her role in Springflod . In 2005 she received the Lauritzen Prize , a major Danish film award. She was also nominated several times for the Danish Reumert Theater Prize, in 2001 in the category “ Best Actress ” (for her performance in Så enkel er kærligheden ) and in 2005 in the category “ Best Supporting Actress ”.

Faurschou is a practicing Buddhist . Her first marriage was to the director Preben Østerfelt. For several years she then lived with the British actor and director Anthony Michael. Jannie Faurschou is married to the anthropologist Martin Enghoff (* 1958) for the second time. The couple live in Copenhagen. Faurschou is the mother of three grown children; she has two daughters and one son.
