Janpeter Kob

Janpeter Hans Werner Kob (born December 20, 1927 in Hindenburg (Upper Silesia) , † August 12, 1986 in Hamburg ) was a German sociologist . He was a professor of sociology at the University of Hamburg and also headed the Hans Bredow Institute for Radio and Television at the University of Hamburg from 1970 to 1979 .

Kob completed a degree in psychology, education, German, philosophy and sociology in Kiel with a Dr. phil. from. From 1953 to 1956 he worked for the Nordwestdeutscher Rundfunk , from 1955 also as research assistant to Helmut Schelsky at the University of Hamburg and followed him as a department head at the social research center at the University of Münster in Dortmund. In 1963 he completed his habilitation at the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster for sociology. From 1964 to 1966 he was a professor at the Academy for Economics and Politics, which later became the University of Economics and Politics (HWP). Then he switched to the sociology chair at the University of Hamburg.

The keyword pedagogy comes from Kob , which in the 1960s was to describe the increasing inclination of political, economic and cultural institutions to take care of their clientele far beyond conventional pedagogy.
