Japan Carlit KK ( Japanese 日本 カ ー リ ッ ト 株式会社 , Nihon Kāritto Kabushiki-gaisha , English Japan Carlit Co., Ltd. ) is a Japanese chemical company founded in 1934.
The company also forms the core of the Carlit Holdings KK group of companies ( カ ー リ ッ ト ホ ー ル デ ィ ン グ ス , Kāritto Hōrudingusu , Carlit Holdings Co., Ltd. ).
history
The foundation stone for the company was laid in 1917. Sōichirō Asano , the later founding father of the company, acquired the license to manufacture and sell explosives from the Carlit company from Sweden that year. 1919 opened a plant in Hodogaya , Yokohama . In 1934, Asano Carlit was founded with an initial capital of ¥ 1.5 million. The Gunma plant, which produced the raw materials for the explosives, was founded in Komaki (today Shibukawa ). In 1949 the Tokyo stock market was entered . The herbicide Desolait was launched in the same year . After some renaming, the company has been operating under the name Japan Carlit since 1951.
In 1953 the bleaching agent Silbrite was brought onto the market. Then the Koto power station was built in what is now Maebashi with an output of 3,300 kilowatts. In 1956, the JCC method for teeth whitening was invented . In 1962 a factory for the production of ANC explosives (ANFO) was established and in 1966 the fuel Hiflare was brought onto the market.
In 1995 the Akagimachi plant in Shibukawa was founded and the plant in Hodogaya was closed at the same time.
On October 1, 2013, the group was restructured as a holding company in which all shares of Japan Carlit were transferred to the newly founded Carlit Holdings KK as the parent company, whose wholly-owned subsidiary Japan Carlit has been since then.
The group also owns the subsidiaries Japan Abrasive Grain, Carlit Sangyō and the Silicon Technology Corporation.
Products
The company now manufactures various explosives for industrial use, lighting equipment , industrial chemicals, agricultural chemicals, equipment for power plants and electronic industrial materials.
