The Jarden Corporation was an American manufacturer of consumer goods . Jarden owns over 120 brands , particularly in the areas of household appliances and leisure products.
history
The name Jarden was created in 2001 when the former Alltrista was renamed. The can manufacturer Alltrista was spun off from Ball Corporation in 1993 . After Martin E. Franklin and Ian GH Ashken took over management in 2001, the company grew rapidly through countless takeovers.
On December 14, 2015, the company announced that it would be acquired by Newell Rubbermaid . The acquisition was completed on April 15, 2016.
