Jaroslav Bába (born September 2, 1984 in Karviná ) is a Czech high jumper .

At the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens he won the bronze medal with 2.34 m behind Stefan Holm and Matt Hemingway, who was at the same height . Earlier this year he had already won bronze at the World Indoor Championships in Birmingham .

At the World Athletics Championships in Helsinki in 2005 he came in fifth, at the 2007 World Championships in Osaka in eighth place. At the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing he was sixth and fifth at the 2009 World Championships in Berlin.

In 2010, Bába jumped to fifth place at the European Championships in Barcelona. The following year he was fourth at the World Championships in Daegu. At the European Championships in Helsinki in 2012 he reached eighth place, but shortly afterwards at the Olympic Games in London he did not make it to the final.

In March 2013, Bába won the bronze medal in the high jump at the 2013 European Athletics Indoor Championships in Gothenburg, Sweden .

At the European Championships in 2014 , Bába won the bronze medal.

Jaroslav Bába is 1.96 m tall and weighs 80 kg. On July 8, 2005, he set his best performance of 2.36 m in Rome .
