Jason Bright (born March 3, 1973 in Moe ) is a former Australian racing car driver .

Racing career

After a start in karting , where he was already active in 1988 as a 15-year-old, his professional driving career began in 1993 in Formula Ford . In 1994 he was third in the Australian Formula Ford Championship . The following year he won the championship on a Van Diemen RF95 . After a second final place in the Australian Drivers' Championship , a racing series that was held at that time with Formula Holden vehicles , in 1996, he won the title in 1997 in front of Jason Bargwanna and Scott Dixon .

From 1997 he became a regular starter in the Australian Touring Car Championship and the V8 Supercar Championship . His best results of the year in the V8 Supercar Championship were third overall in 2001 and 2003. He won the Bathurst 1000 in 1998 together with team-mate Steven Richards in a Ford Folcon .

Outside of Australia, Bright was barely active. 2006 he drove in the 12 Hours of Sebring one plant - Aston Martin DBR9 , together with Pedro Lamy and Stéphane Sarrazin to the fourth place overall. His only outing at the 24 Hours of Le Mans ended in 2013 with 37th overall. At the end of the 2017 season he resigned as a driver.
