Francisco Javier de Pedro Falque (born August 4, 1973 in Logroño ), better known as Javier de Pedro , is a former Spanish football player .

career

De Pedro made his debut in the Primera División in 1993 at Real Sociedad San Sebastián , having previously played in the club's second team. Here he played eleven years in which he played 303 first division games. He scored 44 goals.

After his club had rejected several offers in previous years, De Pedro moved in 2004 after the end of his contract in Spain to England to the Blackburn Rovers in the FA Premier League . However, he couldn't get by and moved to Serie B for AC Perugia during the winter break . When the club ran into financial problems at the end of the season and was then refused his license, De Pedro's former teammate in San Sebastián Håkan Mild , now sports director at IFK Göteborg , guided him to his club. There he had problems and during the preparation for the 2006 season he left the club, the reason given was "personal motives".

De Pedro then joined PAE Ergotelis , who played in the Beta Ethniki . However, he was not used there and tried to find accommodation at CD Mensajero in Las Palmas , which played in the Tercera División , but was not committed.

De Pedro was a Spanish international between 1998 and 2003 . He played twelve international matches and took part in the 2002 World Cup. He also played in the Basque selection .
