Jay Gruska

Jay Gruska (born April 23, 1953 in Brooklyn , New York City ) is an American composer .

Life

Although born in Brooklyn , New York City , Jay Gruska grew up in Caracas , Venezuela before moving the family to Los Angeles at the age of nine . Always enthusiastic and inspired by music, he studied music at UCLA . Already during his student days he produced a few music albums and later wrote music for theater productions , whereupon he started composing music for film and television in 1985 with There Were Times, Dear .
