The principal - One against all ( The Principal ) is an American action film from Christopher Cain from the year 1987 .

action

The divorced high school teacher Rick Latimer has a drinking problem. After beating up his ex-wife's companion in a bar and destroying his sports car with a baseball bat , he is transferred to a sentence. His new job, the Brandel High School , which he is supposed to lead as principal, has a bad reputation as a place of drug trafficking and violence.

Right at the beginning, when he arrives at the run-down school, he catches a couple of students in a vehicle chasing another. He follows her on his motorcycle, grabs her and confronts her. He drags her into his office and demands to call the police. Only now is he informed about the pathetic condition at the school.

Latimer tackles the problems vigorously, which exposes him to hostility from some students, but also from teachers. His goal is to “renovate” the school. The teachers have completely excluded some students from the class. These students are now bumbling in the hallways. Some teachers do not even notice what they are doing because they are ignored by the classes. Latimer wants to change this and is sending all students back to their classes. To enforce this, he strengthens the school's security force with three well-built sports teachers.

These actions make some teachers feel bad. The troublemakers in the classes make lessons even more difficult. Latimer then gave a speech in the staff room and made it clear to the teachers that they could not choose their students and that each student had to be taught because he was "a building block of the school".

Victor Duncan , the leader of one of the gangs, publicly mocks Latimer. At first he threatens him with a knife, later he has his gang members mess him up. Students like White Zac , who tried to rape teacher Hilary Orozco , continue to cause problems. However, he can barely prevent the rape by driving his motorcycle into the classroom on the first floor.

Duncan continues to threaten Latimer, threatening that he will kill him the next day. Latimer and his partner Jake Phillips barricade themselves in the schoolhouse. The pupils are eagerly awaiting the final battle in the schoolyard. From the principal's office, the two watch as Duncan and his gang enter the schoolhouse.

It comes to a showdown and close combat between Latimer and Duncan. Phillips is lured into a trap and locked in a storage room. Latimer is lured into a shower room and threatened by the gang there. Duncan wants one of his comrades to stab the posed Latimer, but he refuses and is shot in the head by Duncan. Duncan is disarmed by a hidden student and Latimer defeats him in a fist fight. Phillips has meanwhile been able to break free from the chamber by force, kills two crooks and meets Latimer, who throws Duncan through the closed door into the school yard, where the students watch the goings-on. Duncan is arrested by the police. Latimer prevailed as principal in the end and in the last scene drives off on his motorcycle, promising beforehand to return tomorrow.
