VN 750
VN 750, the "small" Vulcan of the VN series, was offered from 1986 to 1995 in Europe and until 2006 in the USA. The VN 750 A (US model) appeared in 1986 as the successor to the VN 700 and continued the Vulcan series, but was not allowed to be sold under this name in Germany. The German model (VN 750 D) was offered throttled in contrast to the US version. Although it looks like a chopper (motorcycle) , it has cardan drive and its water-cooled engine, four overhead camshafts , hydraulic valve lifters , four valves, dual ignition and a more sporty design.
In Germany, the VN 750 was replaced by the VN 800 in 1995, as the cruiser look with retro stylistic elements prevailed in this market .

VN 800
In 1995 Kawasaki presented the VN 800 A, which is built as a chopper. The Harley-Davidson Softail served as a model .
In 1996 the VN-800 series was expanded with the Classic model. A modified - now smaller and wider - front wheel, slightly modified fork and triple clamps as well as a few minor cosmetic changes made the chopper a cruiser. The Harley-Davidson Heritage Softail served as a model. In 1999, the model series was supplemented again by the VN 800 Drifter. Matt aluminum and black paint instead of lots of chrome, and above all large, curved, wide front and rear mudguards determined the model. The model for this style was an old model from the motorcycle manufacturer Indian . In 2006 the production of the VN-800 series was stopped. It was replaced by the VN 900, which has been modified in many details.
