The Kawasaki Estrella is a retro - motorcycle of the Japanese manufacturer Kawasaki . It has been built in Japan since 1992 and was marketed in Germany from 1994 to 1999, initially until 1995 as the single-seat model BJ250A, from 1996 as the BJ250C with approval for passengers .

origin

The design of the single-seater model of the Kawasaki Estrella is very similar to the Kawasaki model SG 250 from 1964. This motorcycle was based on a 250 cc machine from the motorcycle manufacturer Meguro, which was taken over by Kawasaki and built, among other things, copies of British BSA machines. The design of the two-seater model is reminiscent of the BSA Gold Star Clubman DBD34 motorcycle from the 1960s.

Models 1994–1999 in Germany

The Kawasaki Estrella was offered in Germany in two versions.

  • Lamp painted green
  • painted mudguards (green)
  • rear shock absorber with expansion tank

  • Seat height 770 mm
  • Perm. Total weight 265 kg
1996-1999

Despite the classic outfit, the Kawasaki Estrella had the latest technology. Instead of a kickstarter, it was started with an electric starter, the ignition technology was provided with transistors and the brakes were designed as disc brakes both front and rear.

Models outside of Germany

The Estrella is still in the Kawasaki range and is particularly popular in Japan. Since the start of production, only minor model adjustments have been made, which were necessary due to legal requirements.
