The Kawasaki Z 900 is a naked bike from the Japanese manufacturer Kawasaki . The Z 900 will be built from 2017 as the successor to the Z 800 . However, the engine is not based on the previous model, but was derived from the Z 1000 . The cylinder bore was reduced and a different crankshaft was used. The frame has been completely redesigned, now in tubular space. Other measures such as a modified exhaust system and rear wheel guide made of aluminum reduce the weight by 21 kg compared to the Z 800.

General

In naming the manufacturer, the Z series is again from the 1970s, when there was already a Z 900. From model year 2017 the Z 900 is available as a "Performance" version, which u. a. contains a sports exhaust, seat cover and small windscreen. It is also offered in a reduced-power "A2" version with 70 kW so that it can be throttled to 35 kW for novice drivers. From this model year onwards, it also functions as the basis for the Z 900 RS, which contains many optical borrowings from the original Z 900 from the 1970s.
