The Kawasaki Z 1000 Z 1-R (mostly just called Z 1-R ) is a Japanese motorcycle model from Kawasaki Heavy Industries . The striking features of the Kawasaki Z 1000 Z 1-R are the 4-in-1 exhaust system on the right-hand side and the cast wheels.

history

After the success of the Z 1000 , Kawasaki developed the "Z 1-R" as a new top model that should set standards in design and performance. The pointedly angular motorcycle with the handlebar-mounted half-shell fairing was only available with a metallic silver blue paint. Although the design was well received by potential buyers, the sales figures remained below expectations after unsatisfactory tests in motorcycle magazines. Among other things, the lack of engine power and the too small tank were criticized.

Trivia

The end of 1977, the newly introduced was Z-R 1 by readers of the magazine motorcycle for motorcycle of the year selected.
