Zephyr is the name of a motorcycle series from the Japanese manufacturer Kawasaki . The uncovered machines (so-called " naked bikes ") were available in Germany from 1991 to 2000 in the versions 550, 750, 1100 cm³, which were supposed to be reminiscent of the Z models from the 1970s. They were all air-cooled 4-cylinder 4-stroke engines .

The name Zephyr refers to a wind deity in Greek mythology.

The internal designation of the series with the model name "Zephyr" was "ZR". In Japan there is still a Zephyr X400 with the tank decor of the first Z1 and a 4-in-1 exhaust system. Because of the mostly German pronunciation of the name Zephyr, the series also had the nickname "C4" among connoisseurs.
