The ZZR 600 is a fully faired motorcycle from the Japanese manufacturer Kawasaki with a displacement of 599 cm³ and an output of 72 kW (98 PS).
Due to the slightly more upright sitting position, compared to the related Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6 R , the ZZR 600 can be classified in the sports tourer category. First introduced in 1990 as the ZX 600 D, the ZZR 600 was extensively revised in 1993 and offered almost unchanged in Germany as the ZX 600 E until 2005. Only a telescopic fork with adjustable rebound and spring preload was added in model year 1995 and replaced the non-adjustable fork that had been used until then, as well as an unregulated catalytic converter in 2002 . There were only other changes in the annual change of color combinations. Due to a more favorable insurance classification, the ZZR 600 was offered in Germany from 1996 with 98 hp, in other countries, however, with 100 hp without power restrictions.
technology
- Liquid-cooled four-stroke in-line four-cylinder engine with 2 overhead camshafts (DOHC) and 4 valves per cylinder , installed across the direction of travel.
- The mixture is prepared by four Keihin equal pressure carburettors with a 36 mm passage.
- Telescopic fork with adjustable rebound and spring preload with a stanchion tube diameter of 41 mm at the front.
- Aluminum swing arm with Uni-Trak rear suspension with adjustable rebound and spring preload.
- Frame made of welded aluminum profiles, six-speed gearbox , electronic ignition .
- Ram-Air air inlet (from 1993), which enables an increase in performance at high speed due to the resulting dynamic pressure .
