al-Jifara ( Arabic الجفارة, DMG al-Ǧifāra , often also al-Jfara ) is a municipality located in the northwest of the Libyan Arab Republic . The capital of the municipality is Al-'Azīziyah . The name is derived from the Djeffara coastal plain, the center of which it forms.

In the entire area of al-Jifara in 2003, 289,340 people lived on an area of 1,940 km². In 2006 there were already 451,000 inhabitants. The municipality is located on the Tripolitan Mediterranean coast and has the following limits to other municipalities:
