Murzuq ( Arabic مرزق, DMG Murzuq ) is a municipality located in the central south of the Libyan Arab Republic . The capital of Murzuq is the city of the same name, Murzuq .
geography
In the entire area of Murzuq, 68,718 people (as of 2003) lived on a total area of 349,790 km². In the southwest, Murzuq has borders with Niger , in the southeast with Chad . Smaller parts of the province are in the Chad Basin .
Inland it borders on the municipalities as follows:
- Munizip Ghat in the west
- Munizip Wadi al-Haya in the northwest
- Sabha municipality in the north
- Al-Jufra municipality in the northeast
- Munizip al-Kufra in the east
Administrative history
In the course of the Libyan administrative reform of 2007, borders were corrected with neighboring municipalities, in particular in favor of al-Dschufra .
