Administrative history

From 1983 to 1995, today's municipality of Tripoli, organized as Baladiyat, was already the size it is today. The Shabiyat, which existed from 2001 to 2007, only comprised the city of Tripoli and its surroundings (400 km²). In 2007 the last territorial reform took place, in which Tajura Wa Al Nawahi AlArba ' (1430 km²) and the area of ​​the capital Tripoli were united to form the municipality of Tripoli.
