Jayaprithvi ( Nepali जयपृथ्वी Jayaprithvi ) is a city ( municipality ) in the Bajhang District in the Sudurpashchim Province in western Nepal .
history
The city was created in 2014 by merging the Village Development Committees Chainpur , Hemantabada , Luyanta , Ridhapata and Subeda .
In the course of the restructuring of the local level and the creation of the Gaunpalikas (rural communities) by amalgamating and abolishing the Village Development Committees on March 10, 2017, the VDC Kailash was also incorporated .
geography
The city administration and the district administration are located in Chainpur. Jayaprithvi is located on the Seti River . The city has an airfield, Bajhang Airport .
When the city was founded, the urban area covered 132.54 km². After the incorporation this grew to 166.79 km².
Residents
At the 2011 census, the VDCs, from which the town of Jayaprithvi emerged, had 20,280 inhabitants (9738 of them male) in 3,676 households. As a result of the incorporation, the population grew to 22,191.
