Jean-André-Tiburce Sébastiani

Jean-André-Tiburce Sébastiani (born March 21, 1786 in La Porta ( Haute-Corse department ), † September 16, 1871 in Bastia (Haute-Corse department)) was a French general and the brother of Marshal Horace-François-Bastien Sébastiani de La Porta .

He joined the army in 1806 and served on the Iberian Peninsula from 1809 to 1811, taking part in the great campaigns in Russia , Germany , France and Belgium .

He then served under General Maison in the Greek War of Independence . In 1842, meanwhile Lieutenant-General and Peer of France , he was given command of the military division of Paris. But he proved unable to cope with the revolution of 1848 and spent the rest of his life in retirement in Corsica .
