Jean-Julien Weber PSS (born February 13, 1888 in Lutterbach , † February 13, 1981 in Strasbourg ) was Bishop of Strasbourg .

Life

On June 29, 1912 Weber was ordained a priest and entered the Sulpizian order . On May 19, 1945 he was elected coadjutor bishop of Strasbourg by the Strasbourg Cathedral Chapter . Pope Pius XII confirmed this election on June 1 of the same year and also appointed him titular bishop of Messene . He was ordained bishop on June 29, 1945 by the Parisian Archbishop Emmanuel Célestin Cardinal Suhard . Co- consecrators were Pierre-Maurice-Marie Rivière (Bishop of Monaco) and Joseph Alphonse Marie Evrard (Titular Bishop of Dionysiopolis)

On August 29 of the same year he succeeded his predecessor as bishop. Because of his merits, he received the personal title of Archbishop on March 25, 1962. On December 30, 1966, he left office because of his age. He died in Strasbourg on his 93rd birthday on February 13, 1981.
