In 1872 he took part in the founding congress of the anti-authoritarian international and took part regularly in the congresses that followed. Pindy wrote for the Bulletin de la Fédération jurassienne and administered the fund for the deported Communards. Together with Bakunin and Italian anarchists, Pindy was involved in planning the failed uprising in Bologna in 1874. Between 1876 and 1877 Pindy was secretary of the Federal Office of the International and helped reorganize the International in France. In 1877 he co-founded the newspaper L'Avant-Garde .

After the fall of the Jura Federation, Pindy helped found La Libre Pensée , a French organization of the free-thinker movement.
