Jean-My Truong

Jean-My Truong (* 1950) is a French jazz and rock drummer of Vietnamese origin.

Career

Truong played from 1969 with Didier Levallet , Siegfried Kessler and Yochk'o Seffer in the group Perception Free Jazz . With Seffer he belonged in 1972 to the founding members of the Zeuhl group Zao . Beyond this band he also worked with the violinist Didier Lockwood from 1975 to 1980 . He has also appeared as the sideman of Joachim Kühn , Jaki Byard , Mal Waldron , Michel Portal , Bernard Lubat , Jean-François Jenny-Clark , Tânia Maria , Biréli Lagrène , Christian Escoudé , Bobby Shew and Debora Seffer .

From 1988 to 1994 he was the drummer of the rock group Indochine , after which he worked again with the group Zao . With the pianist Thierry Maillard and the double bass player Pascal Sarton he forms the TMS-Trio , with the pianist and singer Eddy Malka and Pascal Sarton the trio Soul in Jazz .
