Jean-Pierre Cattenoz
Jean-Pierre Marie Cattenoz (born February 4, 1945 in Maxéville , Meurthe-et-Moselle , France ) is a French clergyman and Roman Catholic Archbishop of Avignon .
Life
Jean-Pierre Cattenoz studied Catholic theology and philosophy at the Catholic Institute of Toulouse and was awarded a Dr. theol. PhD . He was ordained a priest on May 29, 1983 .
Pope John Paul II appointed him Archbishop of Avignon on June 21, 2002. The episcopal ordination donated him the retired Archbishop of Avignon, Raymond Bouchex , on October 13 of the same year; Co - consecrators were François-Xavier Loizeau , Bishop of Digne , and Archbishop Robert Sarah .
Southern French Catholics called for the impeachment of Cattenoz in 2019.
