Life

After primary school , he attended the Max-von-Laue-Gymnasium in Koblenz . He then did his military service in Mendig and studied chemistry and mineralogy in Mainz . In 1984 the qualified mineralogist switched to the press department, was editor-in-chief of technical and industrial journals and also worked as a freelance journalist for the public press. In addition, he was always interested in information technology, photography and science.

Becker mainly writes regional crime novels from Rheinhessen , in which he deals critically with social problems and introduces scientific topics in a generally understandable manner. In doing so, he lets his lust for grotesque, humorous situations and his delight in the detailed local color run free. To involve the readers in his stories, Becker organizes crime tours to the locations of his books. His latest projects include the crime fiction pantomime with the pantomime actress Corina Ratzel and the renovation of Fort Josef in Mainz.

Becker is the winner of the Rudolf Engelhard Prize . He works in many fields, including information technology and PR. Since 2010 he has been organizing guided tours through Fort Josef with the non-profit association Mainzer Unterwelten .

Becker has two children and lives in Appenheim .
