Jean Panhard

Jean Joseph Léon Panhard (born June 12, 1913 in Paris , † July 16, 2014 in Crécy-la-Chapelle ( Département Seine-et-Marne ), France ) was a French engineer and general manager of the car manufacturer Panhard .

Life

Jean Panhard is the son of Paul Panhard , nephew of the company's founder René Panhard , and his wife Marie, née Bonnel. After training as an engineer at the École polytechnique in Paris, he was technical director from 1937, later until the complete takeover by Citroën in 1967 as general director of the car manufacturer Panhard & Levassor and Panhard after the Second World War.

He was also Chairman of the French Automobile Manufacturers Association CCFA and President of the ACF from 1977 to 1989 .

Others

The Prix ​​Jean Panhard Automobile et Société , founded in 2007 by the CCAF and ACF, was named after him.It annually honors outstanding research that deals with economic, historical or technical interactions between automobiles and society.
