Jean Teyrouz

Jean Teyrouz ICPB (born May 6, 1941 in Aleppo ) is a Syrian clergyman and emeritus Armenian Catholic bishop of Sainte-Croix-de-Paris .

Life

Jean Teyrouz joined the religious order of the Institut du Clergé Patriarcal de Bzommar and was ordained a priest on December 24, 1965 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him Curial Bishop of Cilicia and Titular Bishop of Melitene degli Armeni on September 27, 2000 . The Patriarch of Cilicia , Nerses Bedros XIX. , donated his episcopal ordination on March 25 of the next year ; Co - consecrators were Joseph Arnaouti ICPB, Patriarchal Exarch of Damascus , and Boutros Marayati , Archbishop of Aleppo .

Pope Benedict XVI appointed him on February 2, 2013 Bishop of Sainte-Croix-de-Paris .

On June 23, 2018, Pope Francis accepted his age-related resignation. Beyond this point in time he was an Apostolic Visitator for the Armenian Catholic believers in Western Europe. Pope Francis released him from this office on June 27, 2020.
