Jeanne Samary
Jeanne Samary (born March 4, 1857 as Léontine Pauline Jeanne Samary in Neuilly-sur-Seine , † September 18, 1890 in Paris ) was a French actress at the Comédie-Française and a model for Auguste Renoir .
Jeanne Samary attended the Paris drama school from 1871 to 1874 and passed with distinction. In the same year she became a member of the Comédie-Française and made her debut on August 24, 1874 as Dorine in the Tartuffe of Molière . Jeanne Samary shone in numerous roles in his comedies, but also in plays by Éduard Pailleron ( L'Étincelle ; La Monde ou l'on s'ennuie ).
Renoir painted it around a dozen times between 1877 and 1880, the portrait painter Louise Abbéma twice.
In 1882 she married Paul Lagarde, with whom she had three children. Shortly before her death, she wrote a children's book entitled "Les gourmandises de Charlotte" for her children. She died of typhus in 1890 and was buried in the Cimetière de Passy .
